God appointed you as a parent to teach your children how He's all-mighty, all-powerful, all-sufficient, all-knowing, unchanging, always everywhere, infinitely faithful, right and perfect, compassionate and kind, forgiving and full of grace. God blesses you with grace to extend grace to your children. Don’t strive to parent in your natural strength. Don’t assume you have authority that you don’t have; it produces all kinds of parenting difficulties. Tap into God’s presence, power and provision. Parenting was never meant to be a solitary affair. To be a conduit of grace, you must receive grace. Ask God to help you win the struggle over doing things your way or His way. For your capacity will only exceed your shortcomings when Jesus, the One who is “full of grace and truth” (John 1:14), directs your steps. Good parenting does not just happen. The actions we intentionally take or refuse to take and the ways we consciously parent in the midst of all of life’s challenges have a direct impact on our children. In this lesson, we shall consider what it means to parent intentionally and some of the ways to go about it.
